Congratulate several of our colleagues under the supervision of associate professor Peter Celec for publishing a study dealing with long-term effects and gender differences in an animal model of collagen-induced rheumatoid arthritis. Earlier onset of rheumatoid arthritis and more severe consequences on joints, bones and kidneys were found in males, although the prevalence is higher in women than in men.
