Associate Professor Ľubomíra Tóthová and Professor Peter Celec, in collaboration with Associate Professor Milan Chromek from Karolinska Institute, have published a prestigious cross-sectional cohort study that focuses on children with chronic kidney disease (CKD), both before and after kidney transplantation. The study analyzes associations between extracellular DNA, markers of inflammation, and cardiovascular health. This research brings new insights that may contribute to new knowledge about the pathogenesis of CKD and its complications and may help identify new treatment targets.
