New publications on mechanisms of kidney damage

Doctor Janka Babíčková is a co-author of two publications from the University of Bergen in Norway, where they dealt with the mechanisms of kidney damage using proteomic analysis. In the first article, they investigated Fabry’s disease using a zebrafish model, where they revealed a significant impairment of mitochondrial functions, abnormalities in their shape and lower antioxidant activity. In the second paper, in kidney biopsies of patients with post-transplant diabetes mellitus or type 2 diabetes mellitus, they observed different protein profiles that contribute to understanding the early development of glomerular damage.
