Two of our colleagues received VEGA grant funding to support their research. Specifically, associate professor Barbora Vlková will be researching sterile inflammation in birth, extracellular mitochondria and the risk of postpartum infection. A second colleague, doctor Michal Pastorek, will focus on the impact of antibiotics on mitochondrial health and neutrophil function.
